🚕 JIFFYit Taxi Service Terms and Conditions

1. Introduction and Acceptance of Terms

  • 1.1. Agreement: These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern the use of the JIFFYit taxi booking application website, and the related services provided by JIFFYit ("JIFFYit," "we," "us," or "our").

  • 1.2. Acceptance: By accessing or using the JIFFYit services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you disagree with any part of the Terms, you must not use our services.

  • 1.3. Service Description: JIFFYit is a technology platform that connects users seeking transportation with independent third-party taxi drivers and vehicle operators ("Drivers"). JIFFYit does not provide transportation services directly.

2. User Accounts and Eligibility

  • 2.1. Registration: To use the JIFFYit website, you must register and maintain an active personal user account. You must be at least 18 years old or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction to obtain an Account.

  • 2.2. Account Security: You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your Account and must keep your login credentials secure and confidential.

  • 2.3. Accurate Information: You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during the registration process and to update such information to keep it accurate, current, and complete.

3. Booking, Fares, and Payment

  • 3.1. Fare Calculation: Fares are calculated based on a combination of factors, which may include distance traveled, time taken, demand-based surge pricing, tolls, taxes, and applicable fees. The estimated fare provided at the time of booking is an estimate only, and the final fare may vary.

  • 3.2. Payment: Payment for the ride must be made by credit card, debit card or cash, if applicable).

  • 3.3. Payment Authorization: By booking a ride, you authorize JIFFYit's payment processor to charge your selected payment method for the full fare upon completion of the ride.

  • 3.4. Cancellation Policy: You may cancel your booking; however, a cancellation fee may be charged if you cancel after a Driver has accepted the booking and/or after a specified time period.

  • 3.5. Waiting Time: Drivers may charge a waiting fee if you are not present at the pickup location within a reasonable time after their arrival.

4. User Conduct and Obligations

  • 4.1. Lawful Use: You agree to use the JIFFYit services and the Driver's vehicle in a lawful manner.

  • 4.2. Respectful Behavior: You must treat Drivers and other passengers with respect and not engage in any unlawful, threatening, or harassing behavior.

  • 4.3. Prohibited Activities: You must not:

    • Cause damage to the vehicle or property of the Driver.

    • Bring illegal substances, weapons, or hazardous materials into the vehicle.

    • Ask the Driver to violate any traffic laws.

    • Engage in any commercial activity during the ride without the Driver's consent.

  • 4.4. Indemnification: You shall be responsible for the cost of repair for damage to, or necessary cleaning of, Driver vehicles resulting from your use of the services.

5. JIFFYit's Relationship with Drivers (Limitation of Liability)

  • 5.1. Independent Contractors: You acknowledge that Drivers are independent third-party service providers, not employees, agents, or partners of JIFFYit.

  • 5.2. Service Risk: JIFFYit does not guarantee the availability, reliability, timeliness, or quality of the transportation services provided by the Drivers. The entire risk arising out of your use of the services remains solely with you.

  • 5.3. Liability Limitation: JIFFYit shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive, or consequential damages, including lost profits, lost data, or personal injury related to or arising from the use of the services, including any action or inaction of the Drivers.

6. Lost and Found Policy

  • 6.1. Responsibility: JIFFYit is not responsible for any personal belongings left behind in a Driver's vehicle.

  • 6.2. Recovery: If you believe you have left an item, you may contact JIFFYit Customer Support. While JIFFYit will make reasonable efforts to coordinate with the Driver, the return of the item is not guaranteed, and a recovery fee may be applicable.

7. Termination

  • 7.1. Termination by JIFFYit: We reserve the right to immediately suspend or terminate your Account and access to the services if you breach any of these Terms or engage in conduct that we deem inappropriate or harmful to JIFFYit or our Drivers.

  • 7.2. Termination by User: You may stop using the services at any time.

8. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

  • 8.1. Governing Law: These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom without regard to its conflict of law principles.

9. Changes to Terms

  • 9.1. Modification: JIFFYit reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated Terms on our website. Continued use of the services after such notice constitutes your consent to the updated Terms.
